Brandon Thomas-Asante has described Carlos Queiroz as an “incredible” coach as Ghana intensify preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Cardiff.

The forward made the remarks during an interview with Ghana Football Association media ahead of the upcoming international friendly against Wales on June 2.

Thomas-Asante is widely expected to secure a place in Ghana’s final 26-man World Cup squad after being included in the current 28-player camp for the Wales encounter.

The London-born attacker arrives in camp after an impressive season in England, where he scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 34 appearances while helping Coventry City secure promotion to the Premier League.

Reflecting on his journey with Ghana, the 27-year-old described representing the country as a lifelong dream fulfilled.

“I’m happy to be here and we definitely want to prepare in the right way to go and be successful,” he said.

“It’s always the biggest privilege (to play for Ghana). It’s something that since I was young…to believe that I was going to achieve it one day and now to be here is incredible.”

Thomas-Asante also praised the impact of Queiroz since the Portuguese tactician took charge of the Black Stars setup.

“He-Carlos Queiroz- is a very good guy. All of us, we are listening to how he wants us to play and understanding his ideas. It’s been a blessing.”

Ghana are currently in camp in Wales as preparations continue for the World Cup in North America, where they have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
