Boye-Hlorkah on Target as Nottingham Forest End Winless Run in Style
Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah delivered a standout performance to help Nottingham Forest Women return to winning ways with a confident 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town Women in the Barclays Women’s Super League 2.
Forest, playing at home for the first time in nearly a month, showed early intent to halt their four-game winless streak. The hosts created several openings in the first half, with Nigerian forward Joy Omewa heavily involved in the attacking build-up.
After a series of missed chances, the breakthrough finally came just before the half-hour mark when Omewa connected with a well-delivered cross from Cerys Brown to give Forest the lead.
Boye-Hlorkah nearly doubled the advantage before the break, but her left-footed effort was kept out by Ipswich goalkeeper Natalia Negri.
The Ghana international, however, made no mistake shortly after the restart. Showcasing pace and composure, she embarked on a brilliant solo run before finishing calmly in the 47th minute to put the result beyond doubt.
Forest maintained control for the remainder of the contest, ensuring a clean sheet and a much-needed victory.
The win lifts Nottingham Forest’s confidence as they continue their push toward the playoff spots, now sitting eight points behind with renewed momentum in the campaign.
