Ghana’s senior women’s national team, the Black Queens, have arrived in the United Arab Emirates to begin their campaign in the 2025 Pink Ladies Cup as part of preparations for next month’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

The delegation arrived in the early hours of Wednesday, marking the start of an important preparatory phase for head coach Kim Lars Björkegren, who intends to use the four-nation invitational tournament to fine-tune his squad.

The Swedish tactician recently unveiled his team list for the competition, introducing six new faces as he continues to build a competitive squad ahead of the continental championship.

Ghana will open their Pink Ladies Cup schedule against Hong Kong on February 28, before taking on Russia on March 3. Their final group match is set for March 6 against Tanzania, completing a demanding run of fixtures against varied opposition.

After the tournament, the Black Queens are scheduled to face Ivory Coast in a final warm-up match, rounding off their preparations before the WAFCON kicks off in Morocco next month.
