Black Queens Await WAFCON 2024 Group Stage opponents on Friday
Ghana’s senior women’s national football team, the Black Queens, will discover their group-stage opponents for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) on Friday, November 22.
The official draw will be held at the Mohammed VI Technical Centre in Sale, Morocco, the host nation for next year’s tournament.
Under the leadership of head coach Nora Hauptle, the Black Queens secured their place at WAFCON 2024 after missing the 2022 edition.
Ghana joins 11 other nations in the race for the continental title, including host nation Morocco.
The tournament, which will crown Africa’s best women’s football team, also serves as a platform to showcase the growth and development of women’s football across the continent.
The 15th edition of the Women’s AFCON will run from July 5 to July 26, 2025, promising fierce competition as teams vie for the coveted trophy.
The Black Queens aim to make a strong statement in Morocco as they pursue their first-ever WAFCON title.
