Black Princesses Coach Sampson Calls for Improved Performance Ahead of Tunisia Clash
Black Princesses head coach, Charles Sampson, has urged his side to step up their performance when they take on Tunisia in the return leg of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
The Ghanaian team secured a valuable 2-0 win in the first encounter in Tunis, but Sampson insists the margin of victory should not overshadow the areas where his side must improve.
“We want to upgrade our performance and do better. We’ve got the win that we wanted but we couldn’t play the way we wanted and so I could understand also with the stress and inexperience in some of the players,” Sampson told Sporty FM.
Reflecting on the away fixture, the coach acknowledged the challenges his young players faced on foreign soil but expressed optimism about a stronger home showing. “Now I hope this being a home game we can play with more calmness and express ourselves much better,” he added.
The decisive second leg is scheduled for Sunday, September 28, at the Accra Sports Stadium, where the Princesses will aim to seal qualification with the backing of their home fans.
