Head coach of Ghana’s Black Princesses, Charles Sampson, says his team is fully prepared and motivated to go all out for victory when they face Nigeria’s Falconets in the final of the 2025 WAFU B U20 Girls Cup on Tuesday, November 11.

The Ghanaian side will be looking to avenge their earlier 3-1 defeat to Nigeria in the group stage as they battle for regional supremacy in Benin.

Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated encounter, Coach Sampson admitted that Nigeria might have a slight physical edge due to their extra day of rest but maintained that his players are ready to give everything to win.

“Nigeria has a bit of an edge over us because they’ve had a rest in between, but we face them again in the same manner, having played Benin before meeting them. That gives them a bit of an advantage, but we’re also out to win against them today, so our match preparation is going all out, and we’re looking forward to it as a good test for us,” Charles Sampson said, as quoted by ghanafa.org.

The coach further revealed that his technical team has analyzed Nigeria’s previous performances and devised a tactical plan to counter their strengths and exploit their weaknesses.

“We have also identified some strengths of Nigeria, and of course, we’ll try to work out how we can capitalize on them because this is how football is, and then see how mature our players are to be able to take those instructions to come out better than them today, so we’re looking forward to it,” he added.

The Black Princesses go into the final with renewed confidence after recording back-to-back wins against Benin, scoring four goals across both fixtures while maintaining defensive discipline.

The WAFU B U20 Girls Cup final between Ghana and Nigeria is scheduled to kick off at 09:00 GMT, promising an exciting showdown between two of West Africa’s most talented youth sides.
