The West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B has officially announced Benin as the host nation for the 2025 WAFU B U20 Girls Cup, which will be staged from November 3 to 10, 2025.

The highly anticipated youth tournament will once again unite some of the best young female footballers from across West Africa, creating a vital platform to nurture emerging talents and strengthen the foundation of women’s football in the sub-region.

So far, Benin, Ghana, Nigeria, and Niger have confirmed their participation, while other member countries are expected to finalize their involvement in the coming days.

The Black Princesses of Ghana, champions of the inaugural edition held in Kumasi in 2023, will arrive in Benin determined to defend their crown. Ghana clinched that historic title after edging Nigeria 3–1 on penalties in a fiercely contested final that ended goalless after regulation time.

The success of that maiden event not only showcased the depth of talent in West African women’s football but also cemented Ghana’s reputation as a powerhouse in the youth category.

The WAFU B U20 Girls Cup has quickly grown into one of the region’s key development competitions, offering young players invaluable international experience and exposure. It serves as an important pathway for rising stars aiming to break into senior national teams and professional leagues.

As the countdown to the 2025 edition begins, excitement continues to build across the sub-region for another thrilling tournament — one expected to celebrate skill, teamwork, and the future of women’s football in West Africa.
