Asante Kotoko Ready for CAF Confederation Cup Test Against Kwara United – Sarfo Duku
Asante Kotoko Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, has assured fans that the Porcupine Warriors are fully charged for their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round tie against Nigeria’s Kwara United.
The Ghanaian FA Cup winners kick off their continental journey on Sunday, September 21, when they host Kwara United at the Accra Sports Stadium. The highly anticipated first leg is set to begin at 15:00 GMT.
In an interview with Asempa FM, Duku praised the team’s strong preparation under head coach Karim Zito, stressing that their recent triumphs have given them added confidence.
“Under Karim Zito, this current team has won four trophies, and there is more to come from the players,” Duku stated.
“Karim Zito says the team is yet to reach its peak. The players are motivated to win this game because they have studied videos of previous African matches and understand the challenge ahead.”
He further appealed to Ghanaians to rally behind the Reds as they look to make a mark on the continental stage.
“This is Asante Kotoko, and if they perform, it benefits the country. I am asking Ghanaians to show up in their numbers to support the team. I am confident we will make Ghanaians proud,” he added.
Following the Accra showdown, Kotoko will travel to Abuja for the decisive return fixture at the M.K.O. Abiola International Stadium on Sunday, September 28.
