Asante Kotoko SC striker Georges Rodriguez Mfegue has eulogized their newly signed defender Yusif Nurudeen Mohammed despite knowing him for few weeks. The Ghanaian defender joined the Porcupine Warriors last two weeks and quickly joined his new teammates for preseason.
Nurudeen switched camp as a free agent after leaving Real Tamale United to ink a three-year contract with the Premier League record holder’s (25).
After days of training with the first team, Cameroonian forward Georges Mfuege Rodriguez has lauded the talent and qualities of the young center-back, disclosing that, he is a breed of Netherlands and Liverpool’s skipper Virgil Van Dijk.
“He plays like Van Dijk. He has everything. Good in the air and on the ground physically and technically [He’s is good]
“Sure [I’m happy he won’t be my opponent anymore]. I don’t like it when defenders push me and chase me with so many tackles so if he is in my team now, I am very happy about that.”
Asante Kotoko SC are currently in Beposo, for their preseason ahead of the upcoming 2023-24 league season.
They will take on Premier league returnees Heart of Lions in their first match of the season.
