Ghana coach Chris Hughton watch defender Alidu Seidu in French Ligue I opener

Head coach of the Ghana national team, Chris Hughton was in France to watch Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu in the opening fixture of the 2023-24 league season.

The versatile defender who had a difficult ending to last season due to injury, was in action on Sunday for Clermont Foot. Alidu secured a starting berth alongside Grejohn Kyei but suffered defeat to AS Monaco.

He enjoyed full throttle of the encounter as they lost 2-4 in the league opener.

Grejohn Kyei saw 76′ minutes of action and have yet to make his debut for Ghana.

Chris who is looking forward to building a formidable team for Ghana has an assignment in September, asuch begun monitoring Ghanaian players abroad. The Black Stars will face Central African Republic in their last fixture of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Alidu in the last Black Stars call-up failed to make the squad due to injury but is expected to return to the squad this time around as Hughton aim for qualification to Ivory Coast.
