Mohammed Salisu complete £15m move to AS Monaco

The Black Stars defender has successfully switched camp from England to Monaco after completing all paper works on Tuesday night. Salisu has joined AS Monaco on a reported £15 million move from Southampton FC.

The Saints due to poor performance in the 2022-23 English Premier league, suffered relegation and asuch will be seen trading in the EFL Championship next season. On Tuesday, he officially put pen to paper to sign a five-year contract with Monaco after passing his mandatory examination.

His contract runs till July 2028.

Salisu, 24, had a brilliant spell with Southampton FC after joining in 2020 from Real Vallacano.

However, due to injury last season he couldn’t achieve his potentials and had to be retired to the bench nonetheless, he made 26 league appearance.

The French club announced his signing;

“AS Monaco is pleased to announce the signing of 24-year-old Central defender Mohammed Salisu from Southampton FC ✍

“The Ghanaian international commits for 5 seasons”

The left-footed Ghana international is expected to strengthen the defence line of AS Monaco next season and the upcountry seasons.
