“Appoint competent Sport Ministers”- Abdul Salam Yakubu

Abdul Salam Yakubu, the President of New Edubiase Football Club, has urged Ghana’s next government to prioritize appointing sports ministers with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the industry.

Over the years, Sports Ministers appointed in Ghana have little or no knowledge about the sports industry.

In a statement reflecting his concerns about the state of Ghanaian football, Yakubu emphasized the importance of having experienced and capable individuals in leadership roles to drive the sport to greater heights.

“We want sports ministers who will take our football to a different level,” Yakubu said. “The incoming government should appoint people who have knowledge and understand sports.” He told Asempa FM

His call suggests a need for ministers who can address critical issues in sports.
