Abdul Salam Yakubu, the President of New Edubiase Football Club, has expressed hope that the next government will prioritize the completion of the New Edubiase Stadium, a project he believes has been neglected for long.

In an interview with Asempa FM, Yakubu highlighted the challenges his team has faced due to the lack of a home ground, emphasizing the impact on their performance and logistics.

“I hope the new government completes the New Edubiase Stadium because moving around the country to play has not been easy for my team,” Yakubu said.

The New Edubiase Stadium, initiated under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, has remained incomplete.  Yakubu criticized the  New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what he described as deliberate inaction.

“The previous NDC administration started it, but the NPP deliberately did not complete it,” he added.

However, his brother, Abdul-Salam also reassured constituents in New Edubiase that the completion of the New Edubiase Sports Stadium will be a priority under the Mahama-led government.

“During the campaign, John Mahama came to my constituency and tabled before him four demands and one key thing is the New Edubiase Sports Stadium. The previous NDC administration started but the NPP deliberately did not complete it but myself together with John Mahama to ensure the stadium will be completed.”- He told Asempa FM.
