Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi is reported to be in stable condition following a worrying incident during their Ghana Premier League encounter with Young Apostles on Sunday.

The shot-stopper suffered a concussion deep into stoppage time after dealing with what initially appeared to be a routine ball. The situation quickly escalated, prompting immediate medical attention on the pitch before he was transported by ambulance to the clinic at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Hearts head coach Didi Dramani provided reassurance on the player’s condition after the match, praising the swift response of the medical team.

“He is fine now. The medics responded to the situation quite well and on time so he was revived in no time.”

Dramani further revealed that Agbasi remains under close medical observation, stressing the importance of careful monitoring in such cases.

“He could not come to the post match conference because it was too soon for him. You cannot underrated these things. You think you are fine, but you really need to be monitored for a while.”

Despite serving as the club’s second-choice goalkeeper, Agbasi has featured prominently this season, making 11 league appearances for the Phobians.

A concussion, medically classified as a mild traumatic brain injury (MTBI), occurs when a sudden impact or jolt causes the brain to move rapidly within the skull. While typically not involving structural damage, it can lead to symptoms such as dizziness, confusion, headaches, and temporary memory issues, often requiring careful observation before a return to full activity.
