Ghana’s Table Tennis coach, Eva Ampah, has expressed strong optimism ahead of the maiden African School Games, set to take place in Algeria from July 26 to August 5, 2025.

Speaking with confidence before the team’s departure, Coach Ampah highlighted the quality and readiness of her players, adding that they are focused on achieving podium finishes for the country.

“We are hoping for the better because I know our players are good and we are hoping to get medals for mother Ghana, ourselves and our Association. This is the first edition and we want to make a mark,” she said.

Ampah also called on Ghanaians to rally behind the athletes spiritually as they represent the nation on the continental stage.

“Ghana should support us in prayers for laurels.”

Ghana’s participation in the inaugural African School Games spans eleven sporting disciplines, including Table Tennis, Boxing, Badminton, Swimming, Judo, and more. The competition will be hosted across four Algerian cities: Annaba, Skikda, Constantine, and Setif.

As excitement builds for the competition, Ghana’s young table tennis team will look to live up to their coach’s faith and return home with medals and national pride.
