“We Are the Best at Home, But Must Do Well to Win the League” – Gold Stars’ Deputy Comms Manager
A key figure in the backroom staff of Bibiani Gold Stars FC has challenged the playing body to raise their level ahead of a decisive encounter with Accra Hearts of Oak, warning that an impressive home record alone will not guarantee title success.
Deputy Communications and Administrative Manager Joseph Oti Manu, speaking exclusively to Citi Sports, admitted that Dun’s Park has been a fortress this season. However, he stressed that broader consistency will ultimately define whether the defending champions retain their crown.
“We are the best club in the Premier League in home matches, but we should do well if we want to win the league,” he said.
Gold Stars head into Sunday’s high-stakes fixture sitting second on the table, three points adrift of leaders Medeama SC. With Hearts of Oak occupying third place, the outcome of the clash could significantly alter the complexion of the title race.
The club’s management believes momentum is building at the right time. Oti Manu referenced the team’s hard-fought 2-1 victory away to Kpando Heart of Lions as proof that the squad is beginning to deliver beyond their home comforts.
As the Premier League campaign edges toward its climax, Gold Stars know that maintaining their dominance at Dun’s Park must be complemented by strong performances on the road if they are to secure back-to-back league triumphs.
