WAFU Zone B U20 Tournament: Jerry Afriyie wins best player award
Ghana Black Satellites player, Jerry Afriyie has been adjudged as the best player of the just ended WAFU Zone B U20 tournament.
The Black Satellites lost 2-1 to fellow rivals, Nigeria in the final of the tournament hosted by Togo. However, Ghana’s marksman, Afriyie won the most prestigious individual award after the tournament.
The Thought Football Club striker was exceptional during the tournament as he displayed mouthwatering performances which also propelled Ghana to finish second in the competition.
In the semi-finals against Ivory Coast, Jerry Afriyie won the MVP award of the game after orchestrating an exciting comeback for Ghana.
His goal-scoring prowess were unmatched during the tournament as he netted five goals in 5 matches including one against Nigeria in the final.
The Black Satellites have qualified for the 2025 CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations after reaching the finals of the tournament.
