They can say anything they want and I don’t fear- Aboubakar Ouatarra on criticism
Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has addressed the criticism surrounding his tenure, stating that he remains unfazed by public opinion as his focus is solely on winning trophies for the club.
The Phobians were eliminated in the Round of 16 after suffering a 4-3 penalty shootout defeat to lower-tier side Golden Kicks FC, following a goalless draw in regulation time last weekend.
Speaking on Sportsnite on Asempa FM, the Ivorian tactician, who has faced scrutiny due to the team’s inconsistent performances, maintains that criticism is part of the job and will not distract him from his objectives.
“Every coach will be criticised if things don’t go well. No problem. The people can say anything they want, I don’t have any problem, and I don’t fear,” Ouattara said on Asempa FM.
Despite calls for change from some sections of the Hearts of Oak fanbase, Ouattara insists that his job is to work towards success, not to decide his fate.
“If I’m the problem, I don’t have any issue with that. My target is to win the trophies. If I’m not the man for the job, I’m not the one to decide,” he added.
Hearts of Oak will now turn their attention back to the Ghana Premier League, where they currently sit in 4th place with 33 points
