Ghanaian attacker Bernard Tekpetey once again rose to the occasion on the big stage, playing a decisive role as Ludogorets Razgrad edged rivals Levski Sofia to claim the Bulgarian Super Cup.

The forward was introduced after the break and needed little time to make his presence felt. In the 70th minute, Tekpetey met a well-delivered pass from Son with a powerful header, sending the ball home to break the deadlock and ultimately decide the contest.

That solitary strike proved enough as Ludogorets held firm to secure a narrow 1–0 victory, further underlining their dominance in Bulgarian football. The Super Cup success marks the club’s ninth triumph in the competition and takes their overall trophy haul to an impressive 27.

Head coach Per-Mathias Högmo celebrated his first piece of silverware since taking charge of the Razgrad-based side. Although his team created additional chances to extend their lead, they were unable to add to Tekpetey’s goal before the final whistle.

Beyond the medal and silverware, the victory provides a timely morale boost for Ludogorets ahead of the resumption of the First Professional League, with an away fixture against Lokomotiv Sofia up next.
