Head coach of Medeama SC, Ibrahim Tanko, believes his team has regained its confidence following a crucial victory that could reignite their title push in the Ghana Premier League.

The Tarkwa-based side returned to winning ways with a commanding 2-0 result against Eleven Wonders at the TnA Stadium, bringing an end to a difficult run that had seen them go seven matches without a win.

Tanko admitted the recent struggles had taken a psychological toll on his squad, making the victory particularly significant beyond just the three points.

“I think it’s very important after seven games without a win to have three points at home,” he said. “It’s a very good feeling. I said before the game that we only need one win to get our confidence back, and we have it today.”

The result lifts Medeama back to the top of the league standings with 49 points, restoring momentum at a critical stage of the campaign. Despite the tight nature of the title race, Tanko remains optimistic about his team’s chances of going all the way.

Medeama now turn their attention to their next fixture against Bechem United, where they will look to build on their resurgence and strengthen their grip on the summit.

“The players saw that the last seven games will not be easy,” he noted. “We have to take it game by game, but I’m sure that at the end of the league, we will be the champions.”
