Asante Kotoko Communication Director, Sarfo Duku, has maintained faith in the team’s ability to overturn their deficit when they face Wydad Casablanca in the decisive second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup playoff tie in Morocco.

The Porcupine Warriors suffered a 1-0 home defeat in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday, leaving them with a tough task ahead of the return fixture scheduled for Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca.

Duku expressed optimism that Kotoko would rise to the occasion and battle for qualification.

“We will go all out against Wydad in Morocco. We will open up and play them. Truth be told, we are going to put up a strong fight to grind results. It is going to be difficult but we are determined to do our best in the second leg,” he stated.

Kotoko’s contingent, led by head coach Abdul Karim Zito, arrived at the Mohammed V International Airport on Wednesday morning ahead of the highly anticipated encounter.

As part of CAF’s competition regulations, the team will have their mandatory pre-match training session at the match venue on Thursday evening before Friday’s showdown.

Kotoko must secure at least a two-goal victory in Casablanca to advance to the group stage of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, a feat that would reaffirm their pedigree on the continental stage.
