Ronaldo Wins Hat-Trick at Globe Soccer Awards

Cristiano Ronaldo added to his extensive collection of individual accolades, winning three separate awards at the 2023 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai on Friday.

The ceremony shone a light on the year’s standout performers in international football.

Ronaldo claimed the prestigious Maradona Award for Most Prolific Scorer after notching 54 goals across all competitions for Saudi club Al Nassr in 2023.

He further scooped the gongs for Best Footballer in the Middle East Region as well as Favorite Footballer as voted for by the fans.

The awards reflected Ronaldo’s enduring quality in front of goal during his first season playing in Saudi Arabia.

Though up against Erling Haaland for the Best Footballer prize, it was the Norwegian who left with the top prize following his stellar campaign for Manchester City.

However, Ronaldo showed sportsmanship by congratulating Haaland on his achievement before collecting his own hat-trick of trophies on the night.

The ceremony is being organized by Globe Soccer, the European Club Association and European Player Agents.
