Rev Osei Kofi expresses disappointment on current state of Ghana Football
Ghana Black Stars legend, Reverend Osei Kofi is not a happy man in relation to the current state of Ghana Football.
The Black Stars of Ghana are on the verge of not qualifying for the 2025 African Cup of Nations earmarked to take place in Morocco.
The four-time champions just have two points after four games in the qualifiers. They recently drew to Sudan at home and went on to lose to the same opponent in faraway Libya.
In view of that, the AFCON winner for Ghana says the Black Stars as an entity is dead. “The Black Stars seem lifeless to me,” he stated in an interview with Graphic Sports.
He also revealed that, the handlers of football in Ghana do not have the progression of Ghana Football at heart but their own interest. He believes some people in Ghana’s football administration are not fit to occupy those positions.
“Just as only those who have attended law school can practice law, the same principle should apply to football administration.
“Ironically, those currently in charge of our football don’t have a deep understanding of the game; they prioritize the business aspects instead and overlook the GPL and other developmental projects,” he added.
Ghana will face Niger in the final game of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, November 18. Before that, they will lock horns against group leaders Angola.
