Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has anticipated a highly competitive fixture when his side locks horns with Accra Lions on Tuesday, April 16, in matchday 28 of the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors, currently tied on points at the top of the table with Bibiani Gold Stars, travel to the Accra Sports Stadium with hopes of reclaiming sole leadership in the title race. However, Ogum believes the task won’t be easy against a motivated Lions side battling to avoid the drop.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Ogum acknowledged the physical toll the season has taken on his players but remains confident in his team’s readiness.

“Tactically, we are ready,” the coach said. “There is some level of fatigue, but mentally and strategically, we are prepared. We will give it everything to get the win.”

Ogum also commended Accra Lions’ resilience and warned that their opponents will not be easy to break down, especially given their position in the standings.

“They are a very good side. They will come to play and win to get themselves out of where they are now,” he noted. “It’s going to be a close game. A very interesting game in terms of who wins.”

With the title race heating up and both teams having something to fight for, Tuesday’s showdown is expected to deliver fireworks. Kickoff is at 3:00 PM GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium.
