Former Hearts of Oak star Patrick Razak is on the verge of a sensational return to the club, with reports indicating the winger could be handed a contract after training with the side throughout the week.

The 29-year-old, widely regarded as one of the standout performers for the Phobians over the past decade, appears poised for a third spell with the Accra-based giants.

Razak began his first stint with Hearts of Oak in 2016, quickly establishing himself as a fan favourite with his blistering pace and creative flair. His performances earned him a move abroad in 2018 to Guinean powerhouse Horoya AC. After two seasons in Guinea, Razak returned in 2020 for a second spell, bringing experience and dynamism back into the Phobians’ attack.

According to reports in the local media, Razak has been training with the team in recent days and has impressed the technical staff. His fitness and sharpness, despite being without top-flight action for some time, have reportedly increased his chances of landing a permanent deal ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

Razak’s last competitive involvement was with Bazuka FC, a lower-division outfit. However, he has been inactive at the elite level for close to two years, raising some initial concerns about his match readiness. Nevertheless, his current form in training seems to have silenced those doubts.

Should the deal be finalized, Razak’s return could provide a much-needed boost for Hearts of Oak, who are seeking to rebuild and improve their squad depth after a difficult season.
