Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has expressed contentment with his team’s performance and result following their 1-1 draw against Vision FC in a Matchday 27 encounter of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The Phobians made the trip to the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema to take on a Vision FC side battling to steer clear of relegation. Hearts took the lead in the 40th minute through defender Kelvin Osei Asibey, who rose highest to connect a set-piece with a powerful header. However, their advantage was short-lived as Meschack Sowah Adjetey equalised for the hosts early in the second half with a spectacular strike.

Despite failing to secure all three points, Coach Ouattara remained upbeat after the final whistle.

“We played at this stadium, but it is not easy for us because of some things I don’t want to say, but I think the game is not bad. The two teams tried their best and we got our points,” Ouattara told the media.

He commended his players for their efforts and stressed that his team did well to create scoring chances, even if they couldn’t convert them all.

“We are impressed because every time I tell them we can score, we created some chances, but no problem because the opponent also did well in defence and in midfield. Everybody tried to win the match in midfield,” he added.

The result means Hearts of Oak sit fifth on the table with 41 points as they continue to push for a top-four finish. Vision FC, meanwhile, remain 14th with 29 points and still fighting for survival.

Hearts will aim to return to winning ways when they host Aduana FC in their next league fixture, while Vision FC will travel to Berekum to face Chelsea in a crucial tie at the bottom end of the table.
