Ouattara Emphasizes Importance of Supporters Amid Club Pressure
Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has stressed the vital role of fans in the survival and progress of football clubs, especially during turbulent times.
His remarks come in the wake of mounting pressure from sections of the Hearts of Oak fanbase, who recently stormed the club’s secretariat to protest the team’s inconsistent performances this season.
In an interview on Asempa FM’s Sportsnite, the Ivorian tactician highlighted the unwavering loyalty of supporters as the backbone of any football institution.
“The lifeblood of any football club is the fans. Coaches and managers come and go, but the supporters remain—and they attract sponsorship too,” Ouattara said.
Hearts of Oak currently sit 6th on the Ghana Premier League table with 54 points, a position far below expectations for a club of their stature. Despite occasional flashes of promise, the team has struggled to maintain form, drawing frustration from a fanbase known for its passion and high standards.
As Hearts of Oak prepare for the final rounds of the season, Ouattara has vowed to work with his players to regain consistency and restore pride in the Phobian jersey.
