Black Stars head coach Otto Addo says his sole focus is on ensuring Ghana secures qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, rather than chasing any personal achievements, as his side prepares to take on Comoros in their final Group I encounter.

The Black Stars will host Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12, 2025, in what could confirm Ghana’s place at the global showpiece for the fifth time in the nation’s history.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Addo made it clear that individual accolades or coaching milestones are not part of his motivation heading into the crucial fixture.

“I’m not thinking about records. It’s always about teamwork. Full focus to win and that is what I’m thinking about. The last match the players did very well and we are hoping to execute our plan in the Comoros game very well. That is the focus. We will do everything to secure the qualification on Sunday,” Otto Addo stated.

Addo, who led Ghana to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after a tense playoff triumph over Nigeria, is once again close to repeating that feat with a rejuvenated squad.

Ghana enters the final match full of confidence after their dominant 5-0 victory over the Central African Republic in Morocco, a result that lifted them to the top of Group I with 22 points, three clear of second-placed Madagascar.

A draw would be enough to see Ghana through, but Addo and his team are determined to finish the campaign in style with a win in front of their home fans.
