“My pre-match comments were for promotional purposes”- Annor Walker
Technical Director of Vision FC, Annor Walker, has addressed the bold remarks he made before his side’s Ghana Premier League clash with Hearts of Oak, clarifying that his comments were purely promotional and not meant to insult the former league champions.
Walker stirred headlines ahead of the Week 27 fixture at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex after stating Vision FC would “finish Hearts of Oak in 25 minutes.” The match, however, ended in a 1-1 draw, with both teams settling for a point in a thrilling contest.
Speaking to Asempa FM after the match, Walker explained the intent behind his comments.
“Hearts is a big club, I have a lot of respect for them,” Walker said. “My pre-match comments were for promotional purposes, not meant to disrespect them.”
The experienced coach added that the aim was to encourage fans to arrive early and build anticipation for the game, rather than create animosity.
With just seven matches remaining in the season, both clubs are chasing different ambitions—Hearts aiming for a top-four finish and Vision FC fighting for survival.
