Mezack Afriyie Discharged After Head Injury Scare, Fitness Doubt Remains
Aduana F.C. winger Mezack Afriyie has been released from hospital following a frightening head injury sustained during Sunday’s Ghana Premier League clash with Young Apostles.
The incident occurred late in the first half when Afriyie collided with an opposing player while challenging for an aerial ball in the 43rd minute. Medical staff responded swiftly, and the winger was taken by ambulance to the Wenchi Methodist Hospital for urgent treatment.
Less than a day later, Aduana F.C. confirmed that the player’s condition had stabilized and that he had been discharged. In an official update shared on Monday, the club assured supporters that Afriyie was recovering well while further medical checks were ongoing.
“Our forward, Mizack Afriyie was treated and discharged at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital last night. We await results of a CT scan to see if there are any other issues. We would like to thank the staff of the hospital for their support,” the club stated.
Despite the positive update, uncertainty still surrounds Afriyie’s availability for Aduana’s next league fixture against Vision F.C. on Sunday, January 4, 2026, as the technical team awaits full medical clearance.
Aduana F.C. currently sit third on the Ghana Premier League table with 28 points following their draw with Young Apostles, and the club will be hoping for more encouraging news on Afriyie ahead of the weekend encounter.
