Ghana Premier League side Medeama Sporting Club have confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Appiah Kubi as part of an ongoing squad overhaul ahead of the 2025/26 football season.

In an official announcement posted via the club’s social media platform on Wednesday, June 18, the Tarkwa-based outfit revealed that both parties had reached a mutual agreement to terminate the player’s contract.

“Medeama SC and Goalkeeper, Appiah, have mutually agreed to part ways. Thank You, Appiah Kubi, for the Good Memories,” the club shared on X (formerly Twitter).

Kubi joined Medeama from Accra Lions and featured as a backup option during the just-ended 2024/25 Premier League campaign. Although his appearances were limited, his presence added depth to the club’s goalkeeping department.

The latest departure forms part of a major restructuring drive by the Medeama technical and management team, as the club seeks to bounce back from an underwhelming season and reposition itself as a strong contender in the upcoming domestic campaign.
