Medeama Coach Ibrahim Tanko Confident of Growth After Opening Day Win
Medeama Sporting Club head coach Ibrahim Tanko has expressed confidence that his side will grow stronger as the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season progresses.
The Yellow and Mauves got their campaign off to a winning start on Sunday, defeating newly-promoted Young Apostles 2-0 in a competitive fixture.
Emmanuel Owusu opened the scoring in the 17th minute to give Medeama control of the game heading into halftime. After the break, Tanko’s men produced a more assured display, with Paul Yeboah adding a second to seal all three points for the former champions.
Speaking after the match, the Medeama coach admitted his side had areas to improve but was satisfied with the result.
“The performance was 50-50. We didn’t perform well in the first half of the match, but I think we did the most important thing by winning the game and also keeping a clean sheet. We will improve as the league unfolds,” he told reporters.
Medeama will now prepare for their first home game of the season when they host Vision FC at the Tarkwa TNA Park on matchday two.
