Kwasi Appiah Optimistic About Sudan’s AFCON Prospects

Sudan coach Kwasi Appiah has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to perform well at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, emphasizing their determination to honor the country with their efforts.

Sudan finished second in their AFCON qualifying group behind Angola and secured their spot in the 2025 AFCON.

Speaking to Asempa FM, Appiah stated, “For me, once we have been able to qualify, there is nothing we cannot do, and I believe with the help of God, we will do well to ensure we do not embarrass ourselves but rather play to honor the country.” He said.

Sudan boasts a historic achievement as winners of the 1970 AFCON when they hosted the tournament. However, their recent record in the competition has been less impressive.
