Kotoko Captain Samba O’Neil Mourns Passing of Mother
Asante Kotoko skipper Samba O’Neil Ndongani is in mourning following the death of his mother, a heartbreaking loss for the Congolese defender who has become one of the club’s most influential figures in recent seasons.
The Porcupine Warriors confirmed the tragic news and expressed their condolences, pledging support to Ndongani and his family as they navigate this difficult period. The club described the loss as deeply painful, noting the impact it has on a squad that regards the centre-back as a leader and role model.
Samba joined Kotoko from Burkinabe side Rahimo FC in 2024 and has since established himself as a key pillar in the team’s defence. Known for his calm authority, organisational skills, and consistency at the back, his leadership qualities earned him the captain’s armband, a role he has embraced with humility and professionalism.
Kotoko’s players, officials, and supporters are expected to rally around Ndongani in solidarity as he grieves the loss of his mother.
