Kofi Adams Vows to Prioritize Lesser-Known Sports
Minister for Sports and Recreation Designate, Kofi Adams, has pledged to prioritize the development of lesser-known sports in Ghana .
Speaking during his vetting, Adams emphasized the President’s vision to decouple youth from sports, a move aimed at ensuring a more focused and efficient administration of both sectors.
“The President in his manifesto saw the need to decouple youth from sports. We will also focus more on other sports known as the lesser-known sports,” he stated.
This statement signals a major policy shift that could provide greater attention and resources to sports disciplines that have historically received less support compared to football.
The move is expected to enhance the development of sports such as athletics, boxing, table tennis, hockey, swimming, and Scrabble, among others, creating more opportunities for Ghanaian athletes to excel on both the continental and global stage.
