Hearts of Oak defender Kelvin Osei Asibey has identified Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah as the most challenging opponent he encountered during the recently concluded 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

Albert Amoah played a key role in Kotoko’s campaign, netting 12 goals in 25 appearances, and helping the Porcupine Warriors secure a third-place league finish alongside their MTN FA Cup triumph.

Speaking in an interview with Sporty FM, Osei Asibey — a former Eleven Wonders captain — admitted that the Kotoko attacker tested his defensive abilities more than any other player during the season.

“Albert Amoah is the toughest opponent I faced last season. He really gave me a tough time in the first round of the league. Amoah runs a lot and that made me struggle,” Osei Asibey confessed.

The defender is expected to come up against Amoah once again in the 2025 President’s Cup, which is set to take place on Sunday, July 6, at the Accra Sports Stadium. The match, which pits Ghana’s two most storied clubs against each other, promises high stakes, pride, and national attention.

Osei Asibey, who impressed throughout the league campaign for the Phobians, will be aiming to silence Amoah in this crucial encounter as both teams battle for silverware.

The showdown also marks the first major assignment for new Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, adding to the intensity of the encounter.
