Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Abdul Karim Zito, has issued a passionate appeal to fans of the club to fill the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Sunday, June 15, and provide the team with unwavering support as they chase FA Cup glory.

The Porcupine Warriors are set to face lower-tier side Golden Kick SC in the final of the 2024 MTN FA Cup, with the winner earning not only the coveted domestic trophy but also a slot in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.

Speaking in a pre-match interview, Coach Zito emphasized the importance of fan support and the club’s desire to return to continental football, a stage where Kotoko has built much of its reputation and legacy.

“This is a bigger chance for us to make another history to go back to Africa. Every Kotoko player wants us to go back to Africa. Without them [the fans], it wouldn’t be possible. So they should come in their numbers to cheer the team to victory,” said Coach Zito.

Highlighting the historical connection between the club and African competitions, he added:

“Until we go to Africa, we have not achieved our objective because Kotoko became popular with Africa.”

The highly anticipated clash is scheduled to kick off at 5:00 PM GMT at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, and fans are expected to create a vibrant atmosphere as the two sides battle for silverware.
