Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has voiced his disappointment after his side failed to convert their numerous scoring chances in the goalless draw against Vision FC on Wednesday in their outstanding Ghana Premier League fixture.

The Porcupine Warriors dominated much of the game and created several clear-cut opportunities but lacked sharpness in attack, leaving Zito frustrated with his team’s finishing.

Speaking after the match, the Kotoko boss lamented his side’s inefficiency in front of goal, describing it as a major reason they failed to secure victory.

“The team was very, very wasteful at the third end — where Vision is. We created some chances we should have scored at all costs, but we were not focused,” Zito said.

“But at the end of the day, I am okay with the one point because this is a league, and when you play an away game and don’t win but also don’t lose, I don’t think it’s bad. So to me, I’m content with the one point — not because of anything, but the way the game went, I think I am content with it.”

Despite his disappointment, Zito acknowledged the competitive nature of the fixture, commending his players for their overall performance and resilience.

The result sees Asante Kotoko sitting 7th on the Ghana Premier League table with 15 points from seven matches, maintaining their unbeaten run under Zito.

The Porcupine Warriors will now shift their focus to their next league encounter as they continue their push toward the top of the standings.
