Joseph Paintsil Frustrated with Limited Game Time for Black Stars

LA Galaxy forward Joseph Paintsil has expressed his frustration over his lack of regular playing time with the Ghana national team, insisting that his performances merit more opportunities on the pitch.

Despite being a key player at the club level and delivering consistent performances, Paintsil has struggled to secure a permanent starting role in recent Black Stars matches.

His omission from Ghana’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup raised eyebrows, especially after his impressive form in the Belgian Pro League with KRC Genk.

Speaking to The BAC Sports Channel, the former Genk winger made it clear that he believes he deserves more minutes for the national team.

“I think I should get a look in the national team, but it’s sometimes uncomfortable to be on the bench,” Paintsil stated.

While disappointed with his limited role, he acknowledged that final squad decisions rest with the coaching staff.

As Ghana gears up for crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar later this month, Paintsil will be eager to earn a call-up and prove his worth on the international stage.
