Ghana captain Jordan Ayew has expressed his excitement and readiness ahead of the 2025 Unity Cup, describing the upcoming tournament in London as an “intense battle” that will showcase the pride and talent of the participating nations.

The Unity Cup, branded as “The Best in the West – The Afro Classico Contest”, is scheduled to take place at the G-Tech Community Stadium in West London from May 27 to May 31, 2025.

The competition will feature four football powerhouses — Ghana, Nigeria, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago — in a celebration of African and Caribbean sporting excellence.

“We’re looking forward to an intense battle on the pitch and making our country proud,” Ayew said, as quoted by the official tournament social media handle. The Crystal Palace forward is expected to lead the Black Stars in what will be a high-profile return to London for the team.

The tournament will kick off on Tuesday, May 27, with a historic TriniJam Derby as Trinidad & Tobago take on Jamaica in their first-ever meeting on UK soil. On Wednesday, May 28, Ghana will renew their fierce West African rivalry with Nigeria in a fixture widely regarded as the highlight of the tournament.

The Unity Cup will conclude on Saturday, May 31, with a double-header — starting with the third-place playoff, followed by the grand final to determine the 2025 champions.
