Jennifer Cudjoe Confident as Black Queens Prepare for Senegal Clash
Black Queens midfielder Jennifer Cudjoe has expressed confidence and enthusiasm ahead of Ghana’s international friendly against the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal this weekend.
The highly anticipated clash, set for Saturday, April 5, is part of the Black Queens’ preparations for the upcoming 2025 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scheduled to take place in Morocco later this year.
Speaking to the Ghana Football Association’s media team, Cudjoe shared that the entire squad is in high spirits and ready to give their best when they face Senegal.
“Everybody is ready to work and put everything in. The vibes have been good. The first few days have been good,” she said.
The midfielder, who has been an integral part of the squad, also highlighted the team’s progress under head coach Kim Björkegren, noting that they are adapting to new strategies and styles of play.
“We have been learning a lot of new systems and new ways to play, and it’s exciting, so we are excited to play whichever team. We are looking forward to getting a proper win for us to build on it before AFCON,” she added.
Ghana will face Senegal again in a second friendly on Tuesday, April 8, as the team continues its nine-day training camp in Dakar.
The two matches are expected to provide valuable match experience and tactical insight as the Black Queens prepare to mount a strong challenge at WAFCON 2025.
