Injuries Hampering Basake Holy Stars’ Progress — Coach Evans Adotey Reveals
Basake Holy Stars head coach Evans Adotey has attributed his team’s early struggles in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season to a string of injuries that have disrupted his plans and affected team consistency.
They are yet to record a win this season, suffering from inconsistent performances that have left them bottom of the league log.
Speaking candidly about the club’s situation, Coach Adotey revealed that several key players missed pre-season preparations due to injuries, making it difficult to build momentum and cohesion within the squad.
“Player injuries have been a major factor affecting Basake Holy Stars this season. Many could not join our pre-season to prepare well, and there has been no consistency in my lineups. As a coach, I have made the authorities aware,” he explained on Asempa FM.
Adotey, who is renowned for his tactical discipline and player development, expressed optimism that once his injured players return, the team’s performance will improve significantly.
Basake Holy Stars will next face Hearts of Oak at the AAK Sports Arena in Ampain this Sunday as they continue their search for their first victory of the season. Fans will be hoping for a change in fortunes as the team battles to regain form and stability.
