Hamza Issah Moves to Terminate Hearts of Oak Contract After Three Months of Unpaid Wages

Hearts of Oak midfielder Hamza Issah is on the verge of cutting ties with the club after his management, Prosport International, initiated formal procedures to end his contract over unpaid salaries. What began as a quiet attempt to resolve an internal issue has now escalated into a full-blown dispute that could see the player exit under FIFA-backed justifications.

According to Issah’s representatives, the midfielder has not received his monthly salary of GHC 5,000 for September, October, and November 2025. After multiple efforts to engage the club privately, his camp has cited a clear breach of contract and is invoking the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players (RSTP).

Under these regulations, failure by a club to pay a player for more than two consecutive months constitutes “just cause” for the player to unilaterally terminate his contract. Issah’s team argues that Hearts of Oak’s three-month non-payment is a textbook example of such a violation.

Prosport International has since written officially to the club, stressing that Hearts of Oak’s inability to honour its financial commitments amounts to a fundamental breach of the agreement. They insist Issah now considers his contract terminated with immediate effect.

His representatives have further asked the club to issue his clearance certificate and release all required documentation to allow him to continue his career without administrative delays.

The situation arrives at a difficult moment for Hearts of Oak, who have been under growing scrutiny regarding player welfare and financial management. Losing Issah in this manner only amplifies concerns about internal challenges at the club.

For the midfielder, the move represents a firm stand to protect his professional rights and secure stability for his future. Hearts of Oak must now decide whether to settle the outstanding arrears or accept the termination and grant the necessary clearance, with the matter likely to draw close attention from supporters and regulatory bodies alike.
