Golden Kick CEO Joseph Epton Confident Ahead of FA Cup Final Against Asante Kotoko

Chief Executive Officer of Golden Kick FC, Joseph Epton, says his team is fully motivated and determined to defeat Asante Kotoko and lift the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup trophy in what would be a historic achievement for the lower-tier side.

Golden Kick have captured the imagination of football fans with a sensational run to the final, eliminating heavyweights Hearts of Oak and Karela United along the way. The Accra-based club will now face Ghanaian giants and former champions Asante Kotoko in the final showdown set for Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM ahead of the encounter, Mr. Epton expressed firm belief in his side’s ability to cause yet another upset.

“Our motivation is to play and win the FA Cup final,” he said. “We have already eliminated Hearts of Oak, and we are motivated to beat Asante Kotoko on Sunday. That is what we are aiming at, and I am convinced of winning on Sunday.”

While acknowledging the stature and experience of their opponents, Epton made it clear that Golden Kick are not just participating for the experience.

“We respect Asante Kotoko, but the objective is to win the trophy,” he stated.

With the FA Cup winner earning a place in the CAF Confederation Cup, Epton also addressed the club’s preparedness for continental competition.

Kick-off for the final is set for 17:00 GMT, with fans anticipating a thrilling clash between the ambitious underdogs and the seasoned champions.
