Ghana’s U15 boys’ team began their 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship campaign on a high note, dispatching Uganda 2-0 in their opening Group A fixture at the University of Ghana Stadium on Wednesday.

Winger John Andor was the star of the show, netting both goals in an impressive performance that underlined Ghana’s title credentials.

His first goal came from a stunning individual effort that left the Ugandan defence flat-footed, while his second was aided by a goalkeeping mishap, but still demonstrated his sharp instincts in front of goal.

Despite this being Ghana’s debut appearance in the CAF African Schools Football Championship, the team showed remarkable composure and tactical discipline throughout the 40-minute fixture—played over two halves of 20 minutes.

Ghana will resume their group campaign with two key fixtures on Thursday: a morning clash against South Africa at 11:00 am, followed by a late afternoon duel against Algeria at 3:00 pm.

The tournament, which is being held at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra, runs from April 23 to 26. With their sights firmly set on winning the title on home soil, Ghana’s U15s will be hoping to maintain their early momentum.
