The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has announced a significant increment in referee allowances ahead of the 2025/26 football season.

Speaking at the 31st Ordinary Congress held at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence in Prampram, Okraku revealed that FIFA-accredited referees will now earn GHS 2,500 per game, while non-FIFA referees handling Ghana Premier League (GPL) matches will receive GHS 2,000 per fixture.

Additionally, referees officiating Division One League (DOL) and Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League (WPL) games will each be paid GHS 1,000 per match.

“In the new season, FIFA referees will earn GHS 2,500 per game, non-FIFA referees GHS 2,000 for GPL matches, and DOL/WPL referees GHS 1,000 each,” Okraku stated.

The increment is part of the GFA’s broader strategy to enhance officiating standards, motivate match officials, and improve the overall integrity of domestic competition.
