GFA Announces New Management Committee for Black Stars

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has unveiled a new Management Committee for the Senior Male National Team, the Black Stars.

This strategic move is aimed at bolstering the team’s administrative and logistical operations as they prepare for upcoming challenges.

The committee will be chaired by Dr. Randy Abbey, a GFA Executive Council member, who will spearhead engagements with government and key stakeholders. He will be supported by former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah, serving as Vice-Chairman with a focus on player relations and team cohesion.

Other notable members include:

  • Samuel Aboabire: Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association and GFA Executive Council member, overseeing operations and matchday activities.
  • Moses Armah: President of Medeama Sporting Club, ensuring the interests of sponsors and partners are maintained.
  • Richard Nsenkyire: President of FC Samartex 1996 and current Ghana Premier League champions, responsible for special duties.

The new Management Committee is tasked with several crucial roles to ensure the Black Stars’ success:

  • Crafting and implementing strategic plans for the team.
  • Serving as a liaison between the Technical Team and the GFA.
  • Arranging seamless camping logistics and match schedules.
  • Coordinating with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to secure operational funds.
  • Organizing travel plans and promoting professionalism among players and officials.
  • Strengthening relationships between the committee, the Technical Team, and players.
  • Collaborating with the GFA’s Marketing and Communications Departments to meet sponsor commitments and enhance team communication.

GFA President Kurt E.S. Okraku expressed confidence in the newly appointed committee.

“This Management Committee is composed of experienced and dedicated individuals who share a deep passion for Ghana football. We are optimistic about their ability to work tirelessly in supporting the Black Stars and ensuring their success,” he said.
