George Afriyie Vows to Expose GFA Sponsorship Funds to Club Owners
Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Vice President, George Afriyie, has announced plans to disclose details of sponsorship and funding agreements received by the GFA under Kurt Okraku’s administration to various club owners.
Afriyie revealed that he has secured documents showing the funds the GFA receives from FIFA and other football governing bodies. Speaking on the matter, he emphasized the need for transparency, particularly for football club owners who are unaware of these financial inflows.
“For those football club owners who are not aware, in the coming days, I am going to share with them how much Kurt has been receiving from FIFA as a way of supporting the mother body,” Afriyie declared Oyerepa FM.
He stressed that club owners need to understand that these funds are allocated to benefit Ghana football as a whole and not personally owned by any individual. “They will know if the GFA is doing something for them; it is not his own money,” he added.
