Fatawu Issahaku Urges Ghanaians to Rally Behind Black Stars Ahead of World Cup Qualifiers
Ghanaian winger Fatawu Issahaku has called on fans to fully support the Black Stars as they gear up for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar later this month.
The Leicester City star, who is currently sidelined with an ACL injury, will not be available for selection. However, he remains optimistic about Ghana’s chances and believes fan support will be key in helping the team secure maximum points.
“We need your support, and we are ready to fight for the nation as always,” Fatawu stated. “But we still need your support to get the victory, and we hope to see you all in the stadium.”
The Black Stars will host Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, before traveling to Morocco to face Madagascar on Monday, March 24.
Ghana currently sits joint-top of Group I with nine points, alongside Comoros, after securing victories over Mali and the Central African Republic in their previous qualifiers.
With the team looking to bounce back from the disappointment of missing out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), these qualifiers present a vital opportunity to regain confidence and push towards securing a World Cup spot.
