Didi Dramani Credits Tactical Masterplan for Hearts’ Victory Over Kotoko Hearts of Oak h

Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani has hailed his side’s disciplined execution of a tactical game plan as the key to their impressive 2-0 victory over arch-rivals Asante Kotoko in the final round of the 2025 GHALCA Top 4 tournament at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Although the Phobians triumphed in the highly anticipated clash, it was Bibiani GoldStars who lifted the overall title on head-to-head advantage.

Reflecting on the performance, Dramani explained that Hearts’ strategy was specifically designed to nullify Kotoko’s strengths.

“We respect opponents’ strengths and we play to our strengths, and then we plan around that,” he said. “There was a lot of work on Saturday in terms of how we would deal with their long ball situations, anticipating second balls, and pressing their centre-backs to force mistakes.”

While the result was a statement of intent from Hearts, it was GoldStars who ultimately celebrated as champions of the competition. Nonetheless, the Top 4 served as a crucial pre-season test, providing all participating clubs with valuable preparation ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
